Melissa and Logan are possibly the sweetest, coolest couple ever! John and I first met Melissa at the bridal show last June. What we learned from that first meeting is that she’s definitely better at math than John. We also learned that she could probably be our best friend and that was totally confirmed once we met Logan for their engagement session.
Cute story alert!!
Melissa and Logan first met when they were both working at Make a Wish. Logan worked in IT and was called in to fix Melissa’s computer/printer issue. Apparently he had quite a difficult time and had to keep coming back to fix it because the darn thing just refused to work! At the time, Melissa was completely dumbfounded as to why the IT guy couldn’t fix this simple issue. Eventually he managed to ask her for a date and months later she found out that he could’ve completely fixed her computer issue. He didn’t though because he wanted to spend more time with her. Awwww! His masterplan completely worked.
A note about their engagement session as well… it was bloody hot. Not just a little bit hot. It was like 110 degrees hot while being completely surrounded by monsoons which made it like 95% humidity, or at least it felt like that. They were both fantastic troopers about it and handled the heat far more gracefully than I did. Let’s just say I’m glad I wore a dark sleeveless shirt.
Melissa and Logan are getting married on February 29, 2016 (leap day) and I couldn’t be more excited to shoot their wedding! Fingers crossed for the 1 year anniversary super secret photoshoot.
It started out as a nice calm evening on the lake. Perfect for a photo session… until a boat full of cat calling bros showed up! Ok, it wasn’t that extreme, but a boat full of some very nice people (including a few handsome gentlemen) did arrive and make a few comments regarding Elizabeth’s obvious good looks. It was perfect for getting a few blushing/flirting images. Let’s be honest though, this beauty doesn’t need much help! She was such a trooper as well since it felt like near gale force winds towards the end! Elizabeth has hair that I’m envious of (for obvious reasons) that was perfect for a bit of the messy whipping around kind of look. Sassy and sweet, such a great combo!
It was a perfect moody kind of day for portraits. The kind we don’t get too often in the desert southwest! I think it matched Lorena’s slightly sassy personality. I love how quickly and easily this girl could change her look. Chucks and skinny jeans to a free flowing bohemian summer dress. Lorena brought the confetti for the last photo and I’m proud to say we picked up every last piece! Haha! It took 4 of us about 15 minutes but we did it and I’m glad we did because I would’ve harbored guilt leaving that mess there.
Thanks for being a trooper Lorena and following us along the entire California stretch of our portion of the Colorado River. Congratulations on your upcoming graduation!
I had the pleasure of photographing Michael’s older sister Caitlyn last year for her senior session and was excited to get a call to photograph Michael this year! We headed into the Parker valley for some great backdrops and braved the mosquitos that like to come out around sunset. Thankfully Michael was covered with a sweater or letterman jacket but I, unfortunately, was not. I attract mosquitos from miles around apparently but it was totally worth it. He’s an easy guy to photograph! The opposite of the awkward teen. He’ll be heading off to Grand Canyon University soon and plans to be a doctor. This kid is going to do really well.
