Will you photograph us getting ready?
If you want us to, we’ll be there in your dressing rooms to document the entire process of your wedding as it unfolds. Most of our clients want us to be there for those anticipatory moments. John will accompany the groom and Melissa will be with the bride, usually, with some to and fro, depending on need. If you’d rather have us start at your ceremony, that’s okay too!
Can you photograph us all day?
Yes! The average wedding is 6 to 8 hours for us. But our packages now include as much time as it’ll take to cover your wedding properly. So rest assured: we’ll be there to capture what’s important.
What do you mean by ‘photojournalist’?
Most of our photography involves capturing real, pure moments that are happening at your wedding, rather than orchestrating or posing people. We still do a little formal photography on the day, to cover the family photographs and anything else you think is important, but we’re all about letting things happen and capturing the beauty of real life.
How many photos will I get?
We generally take thousands of photos over the course of a wedding, and from this we select the best ‘takes’ of those images to send to you. Quality, of course, is always more important than quantity, and that’s what we’re focused on. Generally we’ll present you with 60 breathtaking images that tell the story of your day, and a couple of hundred more as a bonus.
Will you travel to [insert exotic location here]?
Absolutely! We’re used to travelling for our work and would welcome any new locations you have in mind. Any associated travel fees are at cost – we won’t tack on any silly surcharges or anything.
Can I book Melissa or John separately?
We’re kind of a package deal, us two. That said, there have been occasions when one or the other of us were booked on our own for one reason or other! So, while we prefer to cover your wedding together, let us know your individual circumstances and we’ll definitely consider the options.
What about modeling and commercial shoots, portraits, maternity photos, baby photos, family photos, boudoir sessions, trash the dress sessions, engagement sessions, proposal photos, elopements and other events?
We do them! Tell us about your needs and we’ll talk about how to cover it.
How do we get our photos and when should we expect them?
Our processing of wedding images is a meticulous process of culling, editing, color-grading and ordering, and we know you’ll want us to do it well, which takes a little time. But we’ll blog a few of our initial favorites pretty quickly, and then typically deliver the final cut to you within several weeks. We usually deliver photos via digital download with an online gallery from which you can order prints if you like. It makes it very easy. We’ll also deliver on disc if you have a special need.
I’ve heard we’ll want to be your friends after our wedding. Is this true?
It’s true that we tend to get along really well with most people, and fit right in on your wedding day! So we anticipate a connection with you as a couple and really look forward to getting to know you.
In fact, isn’t it true that you’ve been known to stay out with the bride and groom after their wedding and end up eating banana pancakes with them at 4 am?
Yes. Yes it is.
Sounds great! I want to book you! How much will it cost?
Awesome – we can’t wait to get introduced! See our pricing page HERE.
