So much to say about this lovely couple! John and I first met Melissa at the bridal show in Phoenix. In all that craziness there are always a few brides that stand out and Melissa was one of them. We got along with her as if we had been old friends, especially when she teased John about his math skills! Their wedding was on February 29th (leap day) and some of us (ahem) had a bit of a hard time figuring out when the next date would be.
There was so much positive emotion throughout the wedding and I walked around with a silly grin on my face all day, I’m sure. It my also have been because Melissa surprised Logan during the ceremony with Stormtrooper groomsmen! That was such a hard secret to keep in, but it was so worth it and instantly became one of my favorite wedding moments.
Melissa and Logan first met when working at Make a Wish Foundation. He worked in the IT department and met Melissa when she was having printer issues. Funny enough, those printer issues were not immediately fixed, and Logan kept having to come back to “check up” on that darned printer. The ploy was a risky one since it made Melissa wonder if he was competent in his IT skills, but he managed to ask her on a date and sweep her off her feet.
Someday soon I believe we’ll be working with Melissa and Logan on another portrait session that I’m very excited about! Let’s just say that these two love Disneyland more than the average couple…
Bonnie & Jeremy had a beautiful wedding in a friend’s backyard in Scottsdale. It was elegant with a touch of rustic. I loved their location choice for their first look and portraits and will be exploring it in the future! A good backdrop around every corner. The reception was all fun and games with a giant game of jenga, corn hole and a photo booth.
It was a relaxed atmosphere with a more intimate feel. Bonnie was stunning in a dress that had some va-va-voom! Such a beautiful day for a beautiful couple! Congratulations to you both!
What a lovely family! We spent the afternoon/evening with the Janecek family in the Havasu Foothills where they live. When I first spoke with Janessa about her vision for the shoot, she mentioned she wanted the raw desert as the backdrop. It’s amazing how many portrait shoot requests I receive with a location request of grass, trees, greenery etc. When you live in the desert southwest this can be a tall order. I love that they embrace the beauty of where they live.
We had a great time chasing around the kids. We try and get a few of the traditional portraits in, but mostly spend our time letting the kids be kids. In this case, that meant placing a rock on your brothers head and searching for the best sticks. These are how memories are made!
We were so excited when we arrived to the venue for Ashley & Cameron’s wedding! Within minutes of walking in the door, the kids were asking us if we had see the secret rooms yet! It was all hidden doors and passageways. It was hard to believe the Chateau de Vie is nestled right in Chandler, Arizona!
Ashley was such a beautiful bride and I wanted to take a portrait of her in every single room of the venue. The bridal party and family were such troopers when it came to portraits since it was quite the humid day! With a beautiful venue like this though, taking photos inside was easy.
Congratulations Ashley and Cameron! Your wedding was gorgeous!
