We had fun time in Sedona with Devan and John despite the oppressive heat! This location was chosen not only for it’s beauty, but on the assumption that it would be quite a bit cooler than the Phoenix area. For some unlucky reason it was just as hot in Sedona that day! But we had a great time; it was such a relaxed session since this couple had a nice chilled vibe.
Devan and John were actually the lucky winners of a free engagement session that I gave away at the Arizona Bridal Show! At the next show in January I will be doing the same giveaway! They were naturals in front of the camera.
A few weeks ago we flew to the Bay Area to shoot for a landscaping design company called Landsystems, which creates beautiful backyards like the ones below. Landsystems is based in Redwood City, CA with landscapes all across Silicon Valley.
This kind of photography is a little different for us. But I think they came out beautifully and really showcase the client’s work! I love the various elements that make up the sense of flow in these spaces. Sometimes we shot details: a column, or a plant, or a feature. But the wider shots really capture what is awesome about these properties: the combination of lots of carefully-chosen elements together. The company really knows what they’re doing.
Anyway, enjoy, and maybe you’ll feel as inspired for your backyard in as we did for ours in Arizona!
We had so much fun with Kursten in Downtown Phoenix over the weekend! It was doubly fun since her friend (and our good friend) Aly Tozer came along! She helped with lighting and always brings good vibes to any place she goes.
The colorful murals were perfect for this young lady and she did so great taking directions despite the oppressive humidity! We started right at sunset which is a bit later than usual but we knew we wanted to have some fun with the night lights of downtown. We scouted some great locations (one I’ll be heading back to soon!) and had just great girly fun playing model. She could totally be one right?! Her chin is probably the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen. I look forward to getting a chance to work with her again in the future!
This little lady is SUCH a doll! Sometimes it can be a tad difficult with babies in new surroundings and snapping away with this large camera! It can put some children off smiling completely and refuse to cooperate. This sweetheart though decided it was the perfect time for a lengthy conversation and she told me all about it. She made it through 3-4 wardrobe changes, headbands and constantly being moved and fussed over with no complaints. Little Miss can come and visit anytime!
