Once in a while, everything will come together so perfectly for a wedding – the weather, a great vibe, a beautiful bride, an emotional ceremony, a stunning location, friendly guests – we begin to wonder whether it could ever be topped. This awesome wedding was just like that. Lexi and Christian were married in Gig Harbor, Washington, not far from Seattle, in August, a destination wedding at a great house overlooking the sea.
As photographers, we were in our element, with a little cloud cover diffusing the sun for almost perfect lighting. Enjoy this peek at their day.
An awesome, fun trash the dress session with Kristie and Mike on the Parker Strip! We hit the Colorado River south of Lake Havasu on Kristie’s dad’s boat and had a great time until after sunset. As always, this couple wasn’t timid or shy, and the bride wasn’t scared of getting her wedding dress soaked through or perching herself on a perfectly-placed rock against a gorgeous sky! Enjoy these photos… we had a blast making them and the couple will keep them forever.
Melissa and Logan are possibly the sweetest, coolest couple ever! John and I first met Melissa at the bridal show last June. What we learned from that first meeting is that she’s definitely better at math than John. We also learned that she could probably be our best friend and that was totally confirmed once we met Logan for their engagement session.
Cute story alert!!
Melissa and Logan first met when they were both working at Make a Wish. Logan worked in IT and was called in to fix Melissa’s computer/printer issue. Apparently he had quite a difficult time and had to keep coming back to fix it because the darn thing just refused to work! At the time, Melissa was completely dumbfounded as to why the IT guy couldn’t fix this simple issue. Eventually he managed to ask her for a date and months later she found out that he could’ve completely fixed her computer issue. He didn’t though because he wanted to spend more time with her. Awwww! His masterplan completely worked.
A note about their engagement session as well… it was bloody hot. Not just a little bit hot. It was like 110 degrees hot while being completely surrounded by monsoons which made it like 95% humidity, or at least it felt like that. They were both fantastic troopers about it and handled the heat far more gracefully than I did. Let’s just say I’m glad I wore a dark sleeveless shirt.
Melissa and Logan are getting married on February 29, 2016 (leap day) and I couldn’t be more excited to shoot their wedding! Fingers crossed for the 1 year anniversary super secret photoshoot.
What can I say about this lakeside maternity session other than it was completely adorable! I’ve worked with Amanda and Jasen for a few years now, starting with their engagement session in the Hualapais and then their wedding at the Laughlin Ranch. Of course I was delighted to hear that they were expecting a little girl soon and of course I would photograph their maternity session!
I knew the session was going to be great when I asked Amanda what she thought about a cute bikini / beachy / belly vibe and she immediately loved it. It was incredibly warm (hello, July!) but at least we spent a good portion of the time in the water for photos.
Coming up next? Newborn photos!
